Serious Congrats Jason. Like LD said, now comes the learning curve and how to do everything in the world related to selling and buying coins. Now you get a paid internship. I really, really would not even approach the guys about buying anything there, especially for a while. I would concentrate on doing a good job, maximizing their profits, and learning as much as humanly possible. LD could talk better about it, but it would make me nervous to have a new employee take over an area for me and immediately start trying to buy stuff cheap off me. What will make your bosses happier is for you to sell this stuff on Ebay for good profits for them. Just a friendly warning sir. Chris
There's about 50 guys on this thread that added you to their mental speed dialers. Congrats buddy, here's to success on your new venture! And a little word of advice since it's eBay you're going to be dealing with, no Chinese counterfeits or polished key date turds
Thanks again guys. Don't know what to say. The fun begins? Appreciate all of the positive support. I owe a great deal of gratitude to the members of this forum. Now just don't kill me if I start flooding the for sale/auction sub forums with lots. I'll try to keep it to 3 a day, and am going to pay my subscription right now =[]. You guys are the real pros here, I'm just happy to be in the game. on a final note. I was surprised that nothing was slabbed!?
Congratulations, its always fun to be enjoying a hobby and making money out of it. Personally I would not be cherry picking anything out of their inventory, you wan't to show them that you are there to maximize their profits.
Well, I think there's at least four shops now featured... one more jumping on the band wagon won't make much difference, lol.
Awesome, congrats! Nothing slabbed...looks like you will need to become the resident expert in detecting fakes. Enjoy the job, and consider asking to get paid at least partially in silver and gold. :smile. TC
My question is, now that you'll be working around coins, will you even draw a salary or just use your wages against your purchases?
That is a very good question sir. My allegience is always to my obsession. Considering I can't seem to log off CT it will most likely go toward purchases. True story in my heavy poker days I lived at Winstar Casino. After grinding for 18 hours straight they would allow me to "sitout" and leave my chips on the table for 2 hours. I would go to the showroom and sleep in the corner. A runner would wake me up with a 5 minute warning. Eventually I got a job chip running, and finally as a dealer. A new floor manager came in and informed me that it wasn't good for business to deal and play at the same time. I was no longer allowed to play cards in their Casino as long as I was an employee. So that was that. I quit, and continued to play.
I think we are all just a bit jealous, but you can see all CT people are behind you 100%, including me. It's like getting a dream job with all the trimmings. Best of luck
Flood The Market!! Congratulations!! I hope all goes well for you in the future. It sounds like you got a pretty sweet deal, just make sure to keep the owners happy.
