Here is a scan of the first note I've found from an uncut sheet, the top from 1985. In the middle is the second 1988 L-B that I recently found. The third note is a 1988 L-B and it is the most worn and used 1988 that I've come close to finding. It looks more worn and used in person than in the scan. Nice little comparison to show between conditions.
It looks like you found several old bills in a strap, that is pretty cool. All of those bills must be related to each other, having come from the same old source no doubt. I'm glad you finally found (not 1 but 2!) 1988 notes, I know you've been looking for them for some time. Btw, have you been able to buy those $1 notes from the bar yet? Oh, and happy new year!
Happy New Year to you as well, Russell! I haven't had the chance to buy them from the bar yet, but I will soon, most likely next week. -Travis
Cool, well I look forward to seeing what you find in that lot once you buy them. Here are scans of my three FW 295 errors, btw. The top one was given as change from a store (looks better than the scan shows) and the other two were strap finds.
Wow, how many banks do you use to go thru so many bills. Where do you dump them all? I will usually get a few hundred singles at diffrent banks then redeposit them into my account at diffrent branches and use My MAC card to pull the money back out. I actually go thru the same process with half dollars when I buy boxes from my main branch.
Since January 2nd of this year, I have begun taking statistics on my strap searching, and between yesterday and today, I have gone thru $1,300 in singles. Yesterday, I didn't find anything. Having gone thru a little more than 5x the amount yesterday as I did today, today yielded some more satisifying results. I will post scans later: 2009 $1 LF possible Offset printing error, but it doesn't show well in scans or photographs so I'm still thinking on how I could ask about it on here... 2009 $1 L77777821B, 5 in a row note. 2006 $1 G* 1995 $1 LS DC printed note. 1993 $1 KD VF. 1988A $1 HD. 1988A $1 LP. 1985 $1 GF. 1981A $1 LB. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to get a higer quality picture of my error note? I was a little concerned at the bank to run into a 1995 $1 L that was DC, so I thought I'd investigate it. Sure enough, it is the only 1995 $1 L DC note out of all the other blocks.
