Yep, that's wood! I've bought and sold many woodies at a premium. It's all in the eyes of the beholder!
I cannot say I have sold many, but I certainly have bought many. Some I have paid a premium for, but the vast majority were discounted. You are 100% correct with "It's all in the eyes of the beholder".
How many do you think you might find 1000 ? That's $10. Not a lot of investment potential in that. I would toss them in a jar or flips or whatever and drink water one day at lunch instead of a soda to pay for them. A good friend has 1400 cent varieties in his collection, Some are discoveries he made. He values the collection at $14, because thy all came from circulation or swaps for coins that did. But the woodys don't seem to be something to pay a lot of money for, as there's not a great resale market right now. Save these, because you like them. IMHO gary
pair of light woody's Picked these up today. The 1919 isn't real visible face on so I tried to get it at an angle. I gave $1 for the 1923.
I am not sure if this is toned or wood, so I will post it in both. It does not show well (pictures or in hand), but there is some very light grain on the reverse also. BTW, I had trouble affording this one. It cost a whole 99¢ shipping included.
Hello. It was a nice trip to the shop today. Found this Lincoln buried in a binder. Thanks for looking! My apologies for the blurry obverse. -L
