Those Bhutan notes are very nice indeed! I have three I picked up last month, and you can definitely see why they're called land of the thunder dragon.

Not retired. No strong network of friends who keep me informed — except Cointalk Paper Money forum, of course! Just a case of OCD about banknotes. I have my "shopping list" but I don't work with any specific dealer. I just look everywhere to find notes. I start early in the morning before work and continue in the evening after work. Mostly, it requires a lot of patience to find the right notes. In between looking for notes, I read everything I can find about notes.
If you want to know more about the notes from Bhutan: http://www.panix.com/~clay/currency/Bhutan.html For example, the back of the 5 Ngultrum note above is an image of the Taktsang Monastery — The note doesn't do the monastery justice! Check this out:
clayirving, Nice quality note, again! :>) Are you sending it out for grading? It looks very clean and only two very faint center creases. It seems that when they are TPG graded, the value goes up considerably. Even if the grade is obvious without their service.
Out of half a strap today I got: C 31711713 A Radar, Tri Nom C 31711711 A Tri Nom C 31711731 A Tri Nom C 31711733 A Tri Nom C 31711737 A Tri Nom and I dont know if these would be considered "Mini Radars" C 31711710 through C 31711719
Here we go! Made it in on Friday, packaged it this afternoon, and gave it to my wife to give to me for Christmas Eve unveiling with family Of course I was the only one drooling over it all evening LOL Also got a nice Swiss Army, G-Shock Watch, and a 1850 Officer Field sword! Next will be a 19XX $10 Gold Cert, and will try to eek out a decent $50 Gold Cert. Than I'll get back to the Large Nationals Heck I wouldn't mind a '28 Small Gold Cert! These things are very addicting, and very expensive! Thanks Clay for the info! You know I get that same thing with firearm knowledge? We probably have hyperactive left brains, where reading non-fiction whether it's history or technical manuals are enjoyable! I personally fall a sleep when reading fiction. BTW: You guys on the paper forum need to read up on the history of the Federal Reserve so I don't look like I'm wearing a tin foil hat! I'm telling you, it's the longest running con in human history! Research the "Aldrich bill, Carter/Glass bill, and Paul Warburg" You should also read what Woodrow Wilson said about the Federal Reserve who happened to sign it into law on Christmas eve 1913! "I am a most unhappy man; unwittingly I have ruined my country..." Give this Kindle book a read. It's all but $2.99 http://www.amazon.com/STUDY-FEDERAL-RESERVE-SECRETS-ebook/dp/B004G5ZTXI/ref=sr_1_2?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1324798356&sr=1-2 Merry Christmas everybody!!!
I received these notes the other day. Easy Quiz — What's the difference between these two Series 1976 $2 Chicago FRNs, and why is there a difference?
One's conventional and ones regular, I think. It may not be the correct wording, but I'm sure you get what I mean by it. -tbud
What you're thinking of for the newer/current (regular) style is COPE-PAK, which stands for currency overprinting and processing equipment & packaging.....or something to that effect.
In Christmas money got some 2009 notes i needed. No stars or any fancy serials, but a 2009 $5, $10, and $50 all in crisp unc condition.
