What do you think of this Peace Dollar?

There are about 5 coins that I have been following on ebay. This Peace dollar is one of them. How much extra would you be willing to pay for this tone? I was thinking 2x greysheet, but we have some hawks that have already been staking their land. I would love this coin, but Just can't see myself paying more than 800. It is slabbed PCGS- MS63 by the way.

I have this coin in my Watchlist as well. Honestly, I am not one bit surprised by bids... Seldom do you see attractively-toned Peace Dollars. In fact, I've heard they're the scarcest series when it comes to even moderately-attractive toning. Though, I'm not exactly sure who'd drop a grand on a relatively common date Peace Dollar with a bit of surface oxidation. ;)

Just not my kinda thing I guess...

EDIT: And honestly, now thoroughly examining this coin, I don't find it's even worthy of calling "attractive"... Too much black!

I could see this turning into a huge bidding war. Not between us, but my god look at that reverse.

Absolutely STUNNING! A true beauty for sure. I wish I had the money, because it would be a 3(?) way bidding war.
This is why I don't have paypal.

I love it as well. No way I'm going to get involved with this one. The price is already 740 with 6 days to spare.

WOAH! Can I hear a bunch of cat-calling utility workers whistling at that price and coin when they are supposedly working?

He certainly hasn't. I am personally not a fan of any of the large sized dollars, but the color is such a beauty! I would pick that one in a heartbeat if I had the cash, but luckily I don't so I shall keep searching for the coins I like.

  11. He has not posted here in a while but jerseycat has the nicest collection of toned Peace dollars I have seen. You could send him a PM and see what he thinks about value. TC

TYVM. I sent him a PM. I doubt I'll go for this one. It is just too darn expensive.

I love the high relief on the obverse. When looking through a loupe, the 3D image of the head looks absolutely stunning.

What do I think ? I think it's gorgeous ! There are few things that can get me as excited as an attractively toned Peace !

Would I pay what it will take to get it ? Not in a hundred years.

Kind of torn by that response, not sure if I should feel flattered or insulted :D

I do hope you realize my response is meant to be taken in good fun ;)

Sorry for any misconstrued interpretations. "Most the time it is" refers to the 1,000s of cointalk threads that you have deemed cleaned or questionable color. Going against modern NGC and PCGS slabs and fellow cointalkers. But I like your grading. It reminds me of EAC grading, except for all coins. Also, I kinda thought your first comment was sarcastic.
