I got this coin from a shop about 2 years ago for $5. It was already in a holder.

Anyway, when I had this coin the 1st day, it was flawless. Now I see that there is some kind of "crust" around the rim of the coin.

This coin has never been exposed to any kind of liquid, and always stored in my low humidity room.

None of my other silver coins have changed in the least bit.

What do you consider "low humidity"?

Humidity doesn't have to be the only culprit. Temperature fluctuations can also affect it, and that capsule isn't really airtight.

I was thinking it was toning, but it looks like it has a little thickness to it.

My room gets as cold as 64-65, and as hot as 82.

That's too much of a swing. Consistent temps in the 70's would be better.

The swing is not daily. My room pretty much stays within 5 degrees in a day.

It is toning. And yes, toning can have a thickness to it.

As far as none of your other coins changing, that's completely 100% normal. Every coin is unique and therefore every coin will react differently, or not at all.
