What a coincidence, Mike. In another thread we briefly discussed my 2005-S KS Silver SQ with the "gouge" on the buffalo. Well, I finally! received my CPG, 5th Edition, Volume II today despite being on the pre-order list for 4+ months. Guess what? It's listed on page 237.............drum roll, please...............as a "die dent"!.......FS-S25-2005S-KS-901........

Under Description, it says in part, "It appears to be a deliberate addition to the die, but the cause is unknown."

Like you said, Mike, there is no consensus of opinion on what constitutes a variety or an error. Maybe the ANA and PNG should get together and come up with better definitions.

I've got a couple of those skin tags myself. Nice coin though.

Sounds like a debate that can quickly devolve into a straight up brawl. =)

Not alcohol, just seems to get pretty crazy sometimes when people with superior knowledge in the same area get into it.
