Mom left you some cool stuff! Again, I'm not a paper guy, so I'm out of my depth here, but these obsolete types are certainly beautiful, and I know some of them can be pretty valuable.

That is a very nice note. Was it part of the inheritance?

Yes. It would have made its way to Texas, from South Dakota, in my mom's possession in the 80's.

Surprisingly high SN for a small bank.

I believe the serial number on the top right is the Federal serial number and the lower left serial number is the issuing bank serial number.

I got as far as figuring out the 6775 was the banks charter number.

The large, blue M near the serial number helped with the sorting. The BEP used N (north) S (south) E (east) W (west) M (Midwest) and P (pacific)

That's a nice one! I actually live near blooming prairie, so that's pretty cool to see.

I know less about paper money now that I’ve spent some time doing research. Lol
These things don’t auction a lot when you search for a specific bank.
And some, like this one, just don’t have much of a graded population.
I think mine’s better that what I’ve found and those auctions were years ago.
But I did find Blooming Prairie on a map. :D

I think it should be graded (saved), but I have not figured out how a guy goes about that.

From the photos I would agree. PMG is good for notes. I have a friend that deals in CSA Notes so he sends them in for me. I just pay the fees and mailing costs.

I would suggest your finding someone reputable, someone that you can trust to perform this for you. I give my note to my friend, he sends it to have it graded, then he contacts me when it’s back. We set up a meet and I pay him and I get by the note back.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this before but this is one of the notes that he had graded for me. Not trying to steal your thread but I want to give you a good idea of what’s involved.

The close place is an hour away and an unknown LCS. I just know mine better than this…

You have a nice piece of paper there.

From your photos I would hazard a guess at XF-45, maybe AU-50. I would more inclined to go with the XF-45 but I don’t have the bill in hand. Yours is much better than the VF-25 and thanks for the comment on mine.

I looked at PMGs website and it seems it might be worth the $25 to join so I can submit the few bills I have myself.
Since I paid no cash for them (inherited) I’m not really losing anything even with grading costs.

That’s an idea. Think about it for a week or two before making a decision.
