I assumed the bags everyone was buy were the bags from the coin counters. Those are the bags I have asked to purchase and they say they can't sell them as they have to be counted and amounts verified.

I see so many little old ladies and young kids dumping coins in these and have always wondered how much silver is in them compared to the BWR boxes.

Some people ARE buying right from the machine but some are ordering the bags and the banks are getting them from their supplier. The bank that had been selling me bags of dimes directly from their coin counter recently shut me down due to orders from their auditors to do so. I was able to buy one last bag of halves which turned out to be very good (see my earlier post). If the banks realized that they are often losing money on these bags maybe they would be more willing to sell them to us.

Searched 6 boxes and halves, and found 3 NIFC, no silver and this funny looking one. Looks clad. Picture quality is horrible so will try to describe. No date, and all foreign language, almost looks Russian. One side has two men's heads, one has glasses, the other does not. The other side has a three pronged pitch fork surrounded by what looks like swirls. Anyone know what it is? Thanks!

Would it be worth to buy rolls of halves from someboby and pay for them to ship them to you?

    Weekend report:

    Box 1 of halves: Skunk
    Box 2 of halves: Skunk
    8 CWR + $10 in loose: 1 64 and 1 40%er.

Not great, but at least I found something.

    2nd Box of Loomis Dimes

    Ended up another skunk
Searched them on Friday night after work and dumped them early Sat morning and went back to work. Looking forward to some time off to CRH all day long!
I do have a couple boxes of halves coming on Tuesday but that may be it for the week.

Just edge searched $40 dimes (clear BWR) and got one 64 Roosevelt.

For dimes, I like the clear wrappers.

I'm not a fan. I end up squinting at the coins for what seems like 5 minutes trying to see throught the glare of light bouncing off the plastic

Gotta do it in the right kind of light. I like them.

I don't like them because every time I get them they are already broken into trays of $100 and the tellers there must cherry pick the silver rolls and keep them for themselves. Never scored a clear wrapper silver dime in 7 months of searching....there is something fishy about that.

I don't like searching coins at my house, we don't have the correct light the silvers don't stand out well. The best place I have found to search is the front seat of my car during the day in non direct sunlight. Shade or cloud cover makes the silvers pop right out at me. I toss all the wrappers and boxes on the floor and clean them up after all the madness is done. I sometimes wonder what people must think as they see me in my car searching. I'm always looking down at the coins then up to get another roll, they must think I'm doing something illegal...take your pick. This is perfect subject matter for the new roll searching thread!!!! Pics of your car interior after a road trip and a day of searching, that's a nice sight.

That's a good insight. But the rolls I got today were pulled from such trays, so maybe they missed mine at this bank.

LOL my car is always a huge mess because I remember a trash bag probably about 10% of the time.

Maybe you don't have cherry picking tellers there, or maybe that bank is really unlucky for me.
