I believe it was authenticated as a true error by one of the Hunt brothers.

    Numismania You hockey puck!!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! Wouldn't last a week at the forums of the TPG's, with the constant insistence, that it's insulting.

I agree....this 'mystical', unnamed error expert says it's real, but hasn't suggested sending it to a real TPG? If this 'expert' was an 'expert', he'd be expert enough to know it's worth more in a PCGS or NGC slab. But, perhaps, like I've been saying ALL ALONG, it's STILL ONLY a 1988 in XF!!!! Even if it WERE a real error.. it isn't worth the grading fees at PCGS/NGC.....it wasn't even worth the grading fees at ICG, unless it was 'free grading/shipping both ways' day at ICG.

I still think this sounds like that guy from Canada that turned down, what was it, $50,000, or some ridiculous amount (so he claimed) for a very common Canadian error, worth MAYBE a slight premium. You al remember hhim...it was a 'Museum Quality', unique piece. Pretty much ALL errors are 'unique', in essence, aren't they (I have never seen identicle errors...CLOSE, but never identicle...it's got to be 99.99999% impossible to have 2 of the same coins, same denomination, with the error exactly the same)?

In this case, the OP's attitude towards those that gave their opinion, which the OP ASKED us for, the insistence we are ALL wrong (including real error experts) and HE's right, that he's sitting on a valuable error, that his 'error expert' is unnamed, and that he keeps dredging this up....sure sounds like that Canadian guy is back, eh? (no offense to our neighbors up north..I LOVE Montreal and Quebec City, have been there numerous times, played hockey in many tourneys in cities most have never heard of....and your beer, oh MY your beer is great...Molson XXX, oh yeah!....I just had a flashback to the movie Canadian Bacon, where ALL Canadians are friendly/polite, and John Candy starts an all-out riot by saying 'Canadian beer s***s' at a hockey game...LOL)

Back to the original 'issue' at hand...hey, why don't you send it to Mark Diamond, or FredWeinberg...REAL experts....I SHOULD offer to pay for shipping...it'd be WELL worth the belly-aching laugh)..... but then he'd accuse THEM of being wrong too.

Well, it could be worse....it could be the member with those 3 initials as his name...you know...just replace the numbers 2-14-2 with the corresponding letters....1=A, and go from there.

BUT, regardless, it's a 1988 in XF!!!!! If it were a dime planchet, maybe there'd be better, friendlier responses, but really, enough is enough about this 'coin'. Have it attributed it in a PCGS/NGC error holder, and I'll be the first to apologize (even if it gets in a 'gennie' holder at PCGS, or a 'net' grade at NGC). Have 'some' and send it to a real grading co. But, then we'd have to hear how the PCGS/NGC were wrong, just like everyone here is, so, it's just fruitless. This thread SHOULD be closed...sorry for bringing it up for air...

I just had an expert in the field of intelligence tell me that I'm the smartest person alive in the world. What's his name you ask? I can't tell you that but rest assured, I'm smarter than all of you, the expert said so. ;)

Actually the troll admitted in his other thread who his expert is. Here's a quote directly from the horses mouth.y

I like THAT idea, as I have a dog at home too. I can now use my dog as my instant authenticator, right????

They said don't name people in an insult and don't drag people's names into it that have not chosen to involve themselves in the first place.

It's fine to say "Send it to _____" or "I wonder what _____ would think of this coin" or "it was looked at by _____"

It's not cool to say something like you did before, which was "try pushing around _____ like this and see how far you get." or "Numismat is probably a woman".

PS: that last one only makes you look like a misogynist.

Thank you verrrrrry muuuccch for adding a link to this awesome thread of mine. Now every one of you fine upstanding citizens can go read the thread and see what fine folks you really are. I'm so proud of every one of you. also all of the information you have been hounding me for is contained in the thread. none of you really smart folks probably never read a word I wrote because just like this new thread it looks like all you are interested in is goofing off.

There is already a grading company out there that jumped on this idea. S.E.D.G.C. (Seeing Eye Dog Grading Company). Seriously, no joke!

Only in this case the dog is blind too, so the cat ends up doing the grading. But hey, every coin guaranteed MS-70!

I don't think it's possible that this thread stays on topic. The OP reminds me of a troubled child: good attention, bad attention... doesn't make a difference. They just need attention.

    Sad :(

Only in your threads cause the only thing they're worth is for entertainment. You certainly won't find anything of educational value here. It's kind of like watching Jerry Springer, you know it's all just a show and but you still like to watch people making a fool out of themselves.

Folks I made a honest mistake when I said a error expert looked at my coins. I keep getting error and variety mixed up which is easy for any of us to do when we are talking. actually he is a die variety expert. even though I never mentioned his name on this thread like some of you have been trying to force me into doing are now trying to drag him into this by calling and emailing him. please leave the expert out of it . this is very sorry of the ones of you that did this . This was a private matter and you had no right to bother this man.
