Hey all, I am currently looking for a FW 295 error note, to add to my collection. Does anybody have any of these notes in their collection? If so, what would you say is a fair price point for these notes, today? A quick search of eBay yielded me no results, in that area. Also, is this still an accurate census, of the blocks affected by this error: http://snorkack.nfshost.com/fw295/census.html This census was last updated in June 2005. Quite a while ago, which is why I ask. Lastly, if you have a FW 295 error, and would like to showcase it, please do so here! If you have no idea what a FW 295 error is, this link should be very helpful to you: http://snorkack.nfshost.com/fw295/
I have a PCGS Gem New 66PPQ with bookend notes. Serial number I27703373F has the smaller 295 check number.
again i may show my blank but as i am not into the small notes i have to ask and hope what is said is right dose this only for the 95 notes i am asking as i just went looking at some of my small notes and think i have two FW 2003 notes and the back plate numbers are not the same size ?? if you need the scans let me know or if this is just for the 95 notes then it would have to be me and my eyes playing tricks on me thanks
@Clay: Great notes! Thank you for sharing. Do you mind if I ask where you obtained these notes? As I said, I'm currently looking for a 295 error, so I'm looking all over to see whats available. I took a look a Robert Azpiazu's site, and he seems to have a good selection, so I may go that route. @floridatinman: I would say that your eyes are probably tricking you. The only series affected by this error, is series 1995. However, feel free to post your 2003 notes, just to get a second opinion. Input from others never hurts. Cheers!
I'm not sure, but I think the note with a smaller back plate number is a mule from Series 2003. Can someone give me an assist?
Are you sure the bottom note in the first scan is the same note as the bottom note in the second scan? They don't appear to have the same folds.... If they're actually the same note, then you've got something very interesting there. But I'm guessing that the bottom note in the second scan is actually just an ordinary DC note.
I noticed that as well and if they are from the same note than that will be an exceptional find indeed, the next generation of FW 295 type errors may be upon us! Of course those are probably scans of two different notes but there is only one person who can answer that question for us. Unfortunately, getting a conclusive answer may be a bit difficult to ascertain...
I have been on the lookout for a 295 error as well. Last time I checked, the cheapest place I could find them was thru Robert Aziapizu at First City Currency, which I think was still too high for my budget...:rollling: Let me know if you end up having any luck on acquring one at a decent price. -tbud
yes i know what you are saying about that T and i too seen that that i don't know way my scaner did that in fact the face of that one note looks like a new bill but it has alot of folds in it and the other note has that stain on it but the back side you can't see the stain i have been trying to think of a better way to show the note like a little video and show me truning it over if any one knows how to do this let me know i do have a CD cam corder any help in this would be nice if not i too will just let it go and say thanks
Floridatinman, I do think that a video of you flipping the note over would be very helpful in verifying that the front and back of the note shown, are indeed the same note. If you don't have a YouTube account, maybe set one up, and post the video over there. From what I understand, it's pretty easy and straightforward to get a video posted on YouTube. As others have said, if that note truly does have the wrong size back plate number, you really do have something there. Good luck with it!
thanks 1130 i will look into as i was not sure of what type of format i need for youtube but as i think it will show it is the same note and i do plan on taking it to the club meeting this monday but then i am not really into small notes and sell them to get the money for my large notes i want again thanks
I don't know what your budget is, but I noticed there are some for sale at Executive Currency: http://www.executivecurrency.com/collections/ProductList.php?viewCat=Error+Notes--_Engraving+Errors
Here is a nice one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-DOLLAR-FRN-1195-FW-ERROR-PCGS-67-PPQ-118912-/200683319769
That'd be the cheapest nicest one I've seen yet! Man, you are real good at finding good deals. No wonder you always have nice things coming to your house everyday in the mail! -tbud
Great! Glad my post helped you learn something new. Happy collecting! Also, thank you clay for posting the link to those 295 errors for sale. I know you directed your post at t-bud, but I'm also looking for a 295 error, so that will be a big help.
