Box of halves:

2 90% (both 64)
3 40%

Someone else ordered 4 boxes from this branch that didn't arrive yet. I'm happy the teller held this one for me.

Good Box, starting the weekend off with a couple 90%er's in your pocket is always a good thing.

One box yielded a 1943-P War Nickel, two Buffalos (1935-D and 1936), four Canadians, and several older Jeffersons, with the oldest being a 1938.

Been too busy to search but got out of work early so I just went and picked up a box. Solid box including 2 Walkers (42,43), 2 proofs, 1 2005S Blazing Proof Silver (BU), 4 1964's and some 40%'ers.

Fun variety to find.

Posted below is what Coinflation.com has to say about it. Suggests you are overpaying based on current price of silver. I'm not sure if these have any numismatic value. probably wise to start your own thread, so the wise minds can chime in on this. They will likely want to see pics too.

Quantity: 8
Coin Type: 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar
Silver Price: $29.66 / troy ounce
Answer:

Total silver value is $85.82.

Statistics:

» There are 2.8936 troy ounces of silver in 8 silver 1964 Kennedy half dollar(s).

» Each 1964 Kennedy half dollar contains 0.3617 troy ounces of silver and is valued at $10.73 when silver is at $29.66 / ounce.

» A roll of 1964 Kennedy half dollars has 20 coins and is valued at $214.56 when silver is at $29.66 / ounce.

Bid/Ask Spread:

In the past, most "junk silver" coins on eBay often sell between a +/- 5% spread of the melt value. For example, if you have a silver coin that has a $1.00 melt value, you should be able to find someone who's willing to buy/sell it between $0.95 - $1.05. However, the recent spike in the silver price has caused premiums to fluctuate wildly.

If you're planning to buy/sell 8 1964 Kennedy half dollar(s) when silver is priced at $29.66 / ounce, the final total may fall between $81.53 - $90.11 on eBay.

Picked up those two boxes today, teller had opened one to give $150 to some lady.

Of course that was a good box, grr. The remaining $350 dropped a '62, 2x '64 and 5x 40%'ers. The other box, just two 40%'ers and 2 proofs, both heavily impaired.

that sucks merc. I remember one time i was picking up my boxes and the teller said someone else had ordered a box, but only had $470 on him, so he left 3 rolls. I bought them and there was a 64 and a 40% in them. So either he got a great box, or picked the wrong 3 rolls to not buy.

Went through regular 2 boxes of halves, they were by far the most worn down halves I have seen yet. 1st Box : 1 '64, 8 40%. 2nd Box : only 1 40%. Also in the second box was a 2000 Ecuador 50 piece (which looked too much like a silver) and ... a penny. Hmmm...

Moonshine ....................

Picked up 3 boxes of halves today. I normally only do one at a time and buy a box of dimes with it but after someone went in to my bank and bought the remaining 3 boxes on Tuesday I decided to buy all 3.

Box 1: 1967, 1968d, 1987d, 2007p
Box 2 (stamped 11/28/2011): skunk
Box 3 (stamped 11/28/2011): 1952s, 1962d, 1965, 1966, 1968d x 2, 1969d

The '52 has very nice luster and one of the '68s has some interesting toning.

I open all of my boxes in the car while driving home. Not the safest or smartest of ideas especially when the day I had 7 rolls of BU wheats starring back at me. Almost made friends with a telephone pole... That was one acquaintance glad not to have met. :)
