1964-D beautifully toned Roosevelt dime, picked up for a little more than melt at a coin show today in Tokyo.
I bought this 1826 Capped Bust Half (PCGS AU50) from CoinTalk member Illini for $495 about 6 weeks ago -- and just got these photos back from PCGS yesterday. Prettiest darn thing I've seen in a long time. The color is just exquisite on this piece.
Apologies for the poor quality images here. There are a couple of each for an idea of color. This was a random piece that caught my eye at a Tokyo coin show on 12/11/2011: 1893 Uruguay 20 Centesimos KM#15 1877 - 1893 0.9 Silver 0.1447 oz. ASW Obv: Flagged arms within sprigs, star below, radiant face above Rev: Value within wreath *Please note: This third image has had levels tweaked in Photoshop to point out the color. I'll like to eventually get this photographed properly to share and appreciate the varied colors across this coins surfaces. Until then, this is what I can manage to shoot.
I was with Krispy when he bought that Uruguayan coin. The pictures don't do it justice-- it is a real nice toner
This is a very nice piece of this silver coin. It's indeed 0.900 silver. 749,988 pieces were minted at the Santiago (Chile) Mint; authorized by the mintage act #2,208 (dated October 18th 1892). The coin you have is in very good shape, almost all pieces I've seen show a lot of wear. Great purchase!
Thank you! It's the first coin to represent Uruguay in my collection and I was very excited to find it and make this one mine. I appreciate the added info for the minting history as well.
