Thanks! -- Here is a cool 2 reales with Trinidad countermark--

The mark is double struck-- Never seen one like this.

dcm1.jpg These are the 2 I bought-- The one on the left is a normal single strike

Anyone ever seen a double strike? These were for use in Cuba and Trinidad

Three extremely different, somewhat recent purchases for my diverse personal collection.

1624 Germany Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Neuenstein Taler. Davenport 6826 or KM-19.2. Not a coin you would see everyday (very few auction appearances over the past few years of any decent example and each time they blow away the Krause prices listed). Very rare in this nice uncirculated condition.

Undated (SE1699-SE1720 or 1777-1799 AD) Nepal 1/16 Mohar from the Shah Rana Bahadur Dynasty. Not a rare coin in general, but condition wise this example is superb. Typical early Nepal coinage is lower grade, frequently damaged, and on poor planchets.

1560 Poland Lithuania 1/2 Grosz. A very common in lower grade and while not rare in uncirculated grades, the luster on this example really wowed me. It's got very flashy luster which is not the result of harshly scrubbing the 450+ years of oxidation off it. The surfaces look very natural and undisturbed.

Found these while rummaging through a thrift shops coin bin.

1862 German Bavaria, 1 Kreuzer. I brightened up the picture since the coin was too dark to see.

    Scan10007.JPG Scan10008.JPG
    1892 Hungary, 2 Filler.

Nothing spectacular but still fun. The owner sold these based on the fact they are old. Shows you how some people think about collectibles.

I picked-up the 5000 Drachma Greek 1982 Pan European gold coin recently as well. Actually below melt from Rare Coin Collector in Florida. I would guess all the turmoil in Greece at the moment is helping to keep the price down on these.

    Just received my 2012 Britannia.

Does anyone know if these are also supposed to be limited to only 100,000 mintage?

Nice! What's the grade on that one? Aside from a few "fog" spots, I only see like 1 or two minor contact marks. It's a beautiful cameo strike.

Pretty sure it was an MS69, would have to look in the safe deposit box to be positive. I think the fog you see is just reflections off the plastic slab, coins is nearly perfect. At nearly 30 years-old that's starts to become unusual that there aren't any spots etc. I bought it back in August when gold prices were spiking but a lot of websites were not keeping their prices updated. And so when I say below spot, it was near the very top of the market, but still a good deal in my estimation.

About 10 years ago, World Coin News was sending these out for free as a gift for renewing a subscription. Now the coins themselves are worth far more than a subscribtion. Too bad they aren't able to do those kind of promotions anymore.
