NEWPs? I'm learning a lot of new terms here. Just looked at the pic again to make sure. Maybe its my horrible camera skills but it doesn't look exactly alike. In either case I'm not too concerned though.
I purchased this today for my type set. These are the seller's scans (cropped by me). It looks to be very nice. These Barbers are exceedingly difficult to find in nice condition! If it is up to muster in hand, I will post better photos once I receive it.
I bought this 1826 Capped Bust Half (PCGS AU50) from CoinTalk member Illini for $495 about 6 weeks ago -- and just got this TrueView photo back from PCGS yesterday. Prettiest darn thing I've seen in a long time. This coin was in the inventory of the "Guttag Family", brothers that owned major coin dealership in New York City in the 1920's and 1930's -- and that provenance information is written on the PCGS label. It's kind of cool knowing who owned this nearly 90 years ago. The color is just exquisite on this piece.
here are a few of mine I was able to finally get some decent pictures. I am curious about the one with the missing "f" in the indian head penny guys?
Maybe your camera is having issues. Take the coins outside, during the day, not in direct sunlight, and take a pic of them and see how they come out.
One candle light just doesn't cut it. It looks like the images were taken in a dark closet with out any light. I know how frustrating it is - I can't take a decent image either - but my iPhone sure helps. Adside from my newp Barbers - here are a couple I picked up... 1921-S Cent PCGS 63 RB [ closer to BN ] but its as well struck as any I have ever seen. This one is for my 1921 Mint Set - my Mom's birth year collection.
I've had this one for a while but I just found it while digging through my stuff. It's one of those....'I forgot I even had this coin moments.' Thought I'd share.
