Actually not an error in the strictest sense.
Since it is in the die it is technically a variety.

    Still a fun find.

Maybe they meant to say "shoot him on the stoop"? Lol

Not just a wrong spelling, but spelled correctly to imitate how a foreigner or someone with a certain regional pronunciation might actually say it. Interesting.

There are 10 different versions of this die (but only one with the mis-spelling.) They come paired with 8 different obv dies for a total of 20 different varieties, not including metal variations. This die, #414, comes paired with only one obv, #209, and comes in copper with an R2 rarity rating. Common but very popular.

I own one of the regular ones with correct spelling. I've never seen the
    "spoot" version before.

I didn't know that. Are any of the varieties particularly valuable? I ask because I own one of these with the correct spelling.

On ebay , they go for around $25-50 depending on who's bidding , like anything condition means a lot , I've seen the same as yours go for $75 but that is crazy ebay bidding . I love the spoot patriotic and still need to get one .
