shooooot i was thinking the same its such a small wipe...maybe im hoping it will pass through cuz it is only a touch on the obverse in small area
I am new and still learning how to grade. The wipe marks are the lines on the field continuing on to the cheek. With all the bag marks on the field, I would guess MS 61.
ANACs 6th Edition grade AU-58 , all those tiny marks look like circulation hits not bag marks , tpg grade MS -62 . Probably dipped , but I don't have it in hand to tell , still the luster is there so they did it right .
I'll say MS63 on this one. No major abrasions to speak of. Luster is average. Doesn't looked cleaned to me :thumb:. Also, is this Redfield coin? The rough, red backround is a similar color to the color of the holders Paramount issued with coins from his hoard... -Brian
No doubt its been dipped but whatever ive come to the conclusion they all are..now does anyone think i should ngc it i was debating but the small hairlines make me wonder would they count suh small hairlines as cleaning?
Make sure it is stated on the holder that the coin is from the "Redfield Collection"... Soon after holdering Redfield's coins and auctioning 'em off, the Paramount company decided to holder generic Morgan and Peace Dollars in a not-so-clever attempt to make money. I recall that the Paramount company issued both red and black non-Redfield holders... The authentic Redfield coins reside only in red holders. -Brian
Alright, just make sure you do notpay a premium for the coin's holder... I can't stress this enough! Almost everyday I see "Paramount" (Non-Redfield) coins on eBay where the auctions realize having commanded hefty premiums over the coin's trending market value. :rollling: -Brian PS- Is that Morgan Dollar set as your avatar a coin in your personal collection? She sure is a looker! :thumb: That's one toned Morgan I can truly say I find attractive... And I'm a picky-pickle when it comes to toned Morgan Dollars.
Hmm - guess I'm not seeing what you are guys are seeing. If the luster is intact I'd expect the coin to grade 63, maybe even 64 on a good day.
In hand my opinion was au58 lightly wiped. But thanks for the generosity im still iffy on ngc submitting.
