Wheat cent struck on defective planchet.

    Here is a neat error that crossed my desk. I thought it was cool and wanted to share.

    That is an interesting find. I don't think it's PMD, only because there is no bending, tool markings, it's still got a little red in there. It's like it cracked, defective planchet is an honest guess. Would be cool if you still had the other piece of it.

    That is a sweet looking error. You can tell the planchet was defective also because of the left wheat ear damage on the reverse.

    kookoox10, just imagine the premium it would demand if it was along side the other piece.

    Beautiful conversation piece.

    It was in a collection of minor errors we bought. This was by far the coolest piece.
