Just started about two months ago with my collecting. About a month ago I started searching rolls. Started off buying boxes at banks and it took me a while to find a bank willing to order me boxes. I have progressed to driving around to banks asking for halves as it seems more lucrative.

Recently after a site visit for my job I hit up about 8-9 banks in the town I was in. I bought a $1000 coin-lok bag at one bank, about $700 in rolls at another bank, and finally $500 in rolls at yet another bank. Out of those $2200 in halves .... all skunks! What was interesting at one bank the teller had a single half in her drawer ... a 1968. At another bank the teller had about three dollars in halves ... one 1967. Yet at another bank the teller had six dollars in halves ... one 1964. I thought that was hilarious. Out of $2200 in rolls I got nothing. Out of $10 in loose halves, two 40% and one %90.

I have an account at a credit union with a change counter which is free for members. It is convenient to dump all the skunks. Boy this is addicting! I had a previous outing in which I had pretty nice results. I'll give details about that trip next.

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

Went to the bank who said they have over $110 in halves, somebody else picked them all up. I usually buy pennies, but my bank didn't have any.
So I asked for dimes. Bought $75 CWR Dimes and found a tarnished '63. My first silver coin from roll searching.

    BEST FEELING EVER!

Was able to go through about $100 in halves today... 2 40%'s. Couple rolls of quarters and dimes... nothing.

I would take that box any day! Those are very good numbers and you should order more boxes if they are going to be anything like that first one.

Noob - It was the second roll I searched out of that box and the only Silver. So strange, but I'll take it. It's a pretty cool find. The coin is pretty beat and not worth more than melt, but it's a fun find to scratch off my list.

    I still have not found a 1970!

Wonderful display. Great shots. Those sixties Lincolns look like there in XF condition, nice, really nice.

Sounds like the barber half I found in the TD bank bag and couldn't keep. Glad it at least came back to one of us, I've yet to find one....

    Killer Lunch time Score!

Roll up to my bank to put a box of dimes in the coin counter. It came out $0.59 short but who cares with the score I just got!

After the coin machine is done counting I grab my ticket and head to the teller for deposit. I ask if they ever have customers turn in half dollars and she replies "sometimes". I come back with "do you happen to have any at this time?" She does not but, a couple tellers a few windows down speak up and one has $5.50 and the other $0.50. I can hear them putting them together and I hear CLANK, CLANK, CLANK! I give her my $6.00 and she stacks them up on the counter. They are absolutely littered with silver. I scoop them up, thank them again, and head out to my car so I can enjoy the spoils. Here's the kill for the day....

    1 X 1963D Frankie
    1 x 1964 Ken
    2 x 1966 40%er
    2 X 1967 40%er
    1 x 1969 40%er

This is my first ever teller tray score and has a Frankie hidden in there, so sweet! I loved the sight when the teller laid them on the counter, I could tell there was tons of silver and at least a 90%er. The 1964 is clean and in very nice shape. I'm going to have to bring them donuts again soon and keep them happy.
