    I have this note also.

    Pick# 1 - National Bank of Macedonia 10 (Denar) Note, 1992 Issue
    Front: Farmers harvesting at left
Back: Ilinden Monument in Krushevo at left
    Size: 146 x 77 mm
The Ilinden Monument is a museum of the Ilinden Uprising and Krusevo Republic was established on 2 August 1974 on the 30th anniversary of the first session of ASNOM (Anti-Fascist Assembly of the National Liberation of Macedonia), as well as the 71st anniversary of the Ilinden uprising. The author of this monument is Jordan Grabulovski, who conceived the monument as a symbol of the Macedonian people's invincibility, struggle, and age-old aspiration for national liberation. The artistic and aesthetic expression of the monument complex, which covers 16 hectares, starts with broken chains, continues with a crypt and a colorful mosaic of ceramic material, ending with a dome placed 1,320cm above the ground.

Yep, that's how it all starts. One innocent purchase. I'll bet a year from now you will be into paper currency like you don't believe. And Clay: I'm glad to see someone get into real detail on a collectable item, like you did here. I have over 700 pieces in my collection, and everyone of them has been researched, and details given in its description, as you have done. This is the true meaning of collecting to me. I'm not a history buff, but going back and discovering things about the time periods and pictured engravings, is half the fun of ownership. It has greatly enhanced my understanding as to why a coin or currency was even made, along with it now being a collectable. Kudos to both of you.

I with you on that! I never tire of the stories some notes can tell and insight into the history and culture of another country one can learn from the notes.

Check out this beautiful note from Macedonia:

This bill is another +1. I started a secondary collection of Columbian Exposition materials. I can't begin tell you how much time I have spent in/at the Chicago Historical Museum archives. This stuff really gets contageous.
