lately I have been hitting miscellaneous banks and asking for rolls of half dollars but I figured it was time to bite the bullet and just get a $500 box.

Got a box of lincoln cents today. Apparently this was from someone's hoard as 99% were copper cents! I found 72 wheats, but here's the catch, the majority of this box would be what I considered culls. The conditions of the wheats I pulled out, I would typically throw back in. I was disappointed in this box because I basically got someone's trash. lol. Now I have a dilemma, what do I do with these wheats? Putting a wheat or two back into circulation doesn't bother me, but a roll and a half? lol I may just give them to my uncle as he's big into wheat collections, but not sure if he'd want them either.

Wgpjr, If it was me I'd recirculate them. Maybe some young kid might want them to fill up his starter folder. Unless you
are a copper hoarder they're just gonna pile up on you and take up a lot of space. The same thing goes for Canadian cents.
Only I don't know of a good way to recycle them. I think I have twenty rolls of them.

Had one of my best days in at least a month. I got $500 in quarters ($300 CWR and $200 BWR). There was nothing in the BWR. The CWR was interesting to say the least. I found four nickels (love it when they try to game the system), a 2011 Canadian quarter, a 50% silver 1968 Canadian quarter, a chinese coin and a great looking 1959 Washington quarter. Funny how they shorted their rolls with the nickels but missed to the two silver pieces.

I also did a box of dimes and turned my luck around with them as well. I scored two roosies a 1947 and 1954.

I hope this means my luck is turning and that my four to five halve boxes tomorrow will be loaded with some good silver!

Nice...I'm hoping to score a good one either today or orver the weekend. My last couple boxes have either been skunks or had one. Going to try and ramp it up for December and maybe try and sell a little AG to make sure my little girl gets what she wants from Santa.

Does she want silver, LOL....prob not I think she wants an Elmo and a play kitchen. However, she is getting an ASE from her birth year 2010 and maybe even the Mint Set from 2010 as well. The one with the 5 quarters, half dollar, and dime all struck in 90%. Those will get stashed away until she gets older and then she will think back and tell me how smart I am for investing when she is young.:smile

    I HATE this!,

I go to a bank today that I don't normally visit and ask for halves. The teller gives me $6, all clad. She then says that yesterday, a lady brought in "a bunch of really old coins, I mean, really old. It was real silver. But, we had to send it off to the central bank."

I stop yesterday, I have a big score....today, nothing but a fish story......

Sorry to hear that. But to tell you the truth, today isn't a good day for me either. My bank promised that they will call me to pick up the half dollar box today but they never called. So I called instead, but they said that the box is still in the process of ordering - whatever that means!

I get the "Oh you should have come in 2 months ago. Some guy/lady deposited this _____rolls of the coins you're looking for. But we shipped them back". If I had a mint roll for every time I heard THAT story.

    2 boxes of halves.

    box 1 : 1 40%
    box 2 : skunk

My overall ratio for the halves is 10:1, 40%:90%. Sure would like to run across some older coins. I would love to find a Franklin or something in circulation!! Still looking forward to picking up those $300 in dollar coins on Monday when the teller that has them gets back from vacation. Hopefully there is some nice old silver in there!

Two more boxes got 4 more

found a steel cent in a box of pennies too

Two leftover boxes of halves; 2 40%'ers and a skunk. Saw a silver proof half while cashing in some dimes and nickels. Shame.

Box of dimes; '42-D and a Roosie.

Four more boxes of halves produced a '66 and a '65. Two skunk boxes. Better but still not like I saw in October but better than November.

    Moonshine ....................

Had an errand to run yesterday and decided to make a mini-road trip out of it. Hit 13 banks. Most were skunks. One bank teller had halves (looked like clad) in her tray but then asked me for my account number. No account so no coins...hate that. Picked up $2.50 in halves at one bank, $1 worth at another and 4 CWR rolls at bank #13. They were labeled "1776-1976"....ugh. Luckily I had an errand to run or I would not be happy with that trip.

Halves boxes have been decent recently:

    11/21/2011 1967
    11/23/2011 1967 x 2
    11/30/2011 1954d, 1966, 1967, 1968d
    12/2/2011 1966, 1967, 1968d, 1969 x 2, 2011 d
