This is a nice B1 or Fr2 (depends on what I suspect is near flat reverse) which is still identifiable as the very scarce S-83. This is because there is only one pairing with the identifiable obverse 2. ( or Breen 3) It's early, but less than $20 as I post this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-RARE-1...81?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3cbf379461
I am going with Fr2 because I finally noticed one of the pictures shows the reverse and it does have some detail.
Marshall, did you follow this interesting 1796 Draped Bust cent which ended a short while back. I was hoping not too many people would notice it is the very rare S-117 variety (R5+). Alas, that was not to be as you can see from the final price. This coin is probably within the cc for the variety. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150699419627?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_982
I don't believe it. This one got by me. No knot and the leaf position of the two leaves under the left upright of M make the Reverse Y (Breen W) a solid attribution. I suppose T is close, but the leaf under C is different. The 'checkmark' above E removes all doubt. The other pairing of Y is NC-6 with the imbedded 6 (Obverse 25/Breen 22) so the obverse 24/Breen 21 is solid as well. I suppose my eBay didn't pick up the UK site this time.
