it SAID .50 cent military payment cert now it says one buck Do I win anything since 2 went ahead of me?
I use Standard Catalog of US Paper Paper Money as my primary refernce tool. Banknote Reporter is also a good publication, but I've found their prices to be a little inflated. As for the book, you can find older editions for a few dollars on Amazon. As for your silver certificated, I would need to know a little more info since the scan would not allow me to see them as clearly. What are their series?
I'm guessing the one at the top is 1935E or somewhere around there because of it's signatures. For the rest, they are all 1957, 1957A, or 1957B. 1957B is the least common of the '57s and it is probably the most desirable. Your silver certificates are probably only worth an extra $0.15 each... Or at least thats about the last time I checked on eBay...
Here's a tough note to find in good shape. Lebanon, P48. There are a batch of absolutely beautiful french-printed notes from Lebanon, this may be the only one I can afford... Dave
That's awesome Here are a couple I got from the bank. I brought my g-ma and she cashed in some change (which I should have looked through first but oh well) and when the cashier gave her the 24 bucks she had I started looking at the bills She was like why are you checking them out? I said oh I collect older notes, radar notes, stars, old bills, etc. and she said oh hey check these out! I don't think I'm gonna keep them although so and so told me to (one of the people she worked with). I said yah you should keep these they are cool! She said are the worth anything? I said the 34 star probably is worth around 20 maybe more and the others are a bit used but they will still be over face. I honestly don't know what they are worth but I didn't want to tell her wrong. She said you take them I won't keep them. Okie dokie! Thanks! So I gave her my number and told her I'd take her out to dinner if she wanted haha. She was cute also! I don't think that went over well though haha. Anyways when I got them home I noticed the 1950A is larger than the rest. Was it cut out of a block? It barely fits inside the holder length wise.
today a nice lady came into the store with some old notes from her farther that pasted away she was sent from the bank over to my store. she had her son use the computer to look up what their value was. now i bring this up as her son did come to cointalk and did go into alot of post and seen one where some one did not believe as old notes where not devalue and that was from some one that was an ANA member so he told his mom this. plus it did not help that the bank sent her to my shop she asked me if i would give her face for the notes she had (as the coustamer is always right i said yes) but did not feel good about it (but as she is coming back i will try to make it up to her then ) but anyway this is what i got today but again i did want to say thanks who ever that was -- i know i could go look but don't feel like it right now not sure what i will do with them as they all look good but already got alot of my bills out for grading and before i hear all the flak about my posting let me say now that my case is done and over and i know what i did wrong i know what i can do now so i don't what to hear about it thanks
Thanks dr I was pretty stoked. Even if they are only worth a little over face I gave my dad my other payable in gold ten and I was hoping to find another some day.
I added a few pieces to my collection today. They have some issues, but they also have a nice new home!
Real nice scores! Good luck with taking her out to dinner haha. I sure wish my grandma and grandpa had these kind of hook up's. They had a 1934 $20 once and I tried my hardest to get it from them but they "accidentally" spent it. Beleve me when I say that they didn't need to spend it, they are plenty well off. I think it's really just because they don't approve of me collecting paper money, they'd rather have my buy coin metals... :dead-horse:
Got some change at the bank today and picked up this note to add to the fancy schmancy album. Not a bad find if I say so.
neat singature! I really like seeing your collection. Lol makes me jealous a bit I'll admit, but again, thanks for sharing.
