The BS alarm just went off again.

bs.jpg

Do you expect us to believe the BEP writes:

Sure, "all of the outstanding currency is almost haft of all currency printed today"
— What the heck does that mean? The BEP wrote that? Really?

The BEP FAQ indicates:

Will there be a recall or devaluation of the older-series notes?
There will be no recall or devaluation of the older-series notes, which will be removed from circulation as they wear out. Older worn notes will be replaced with the new notes.

Do you expect us to believe that the BEP supposedly indicates that use of older-series notes will devalue current-series notes. If the older-series notes are not devaluated, then how in the world will they devaluate current-series notes?

Maybe I'll just send "haft" of all my money to the "collators" and everything will be fine.

Those were my thoughts exactly. Thats my sarcasm in "asking another official" and "playing cop". Next, Mr. Obama himself will have comments to share on the matter. :)

where is the BS
"the older-series notes, which will be removed from circulation as they wear out. Older worn notes will be replaced with the new notes."
every one here has said this dose not happen as the banks don't have to trun in old notes and that they still use the old notes
i really don't care if you believe i got this from the BEP or not it just shows that if i want to know something i will ask the ones that do know what they are talking about
and if you would have checked the link they sent me you would know what they are saying about the amount of outstanding notes their is and just hoiw many they are and if every one was to use them there would be more money in use than we need.
this just shows how much this place checks thing and is really a place not for that facts but what you think they should be. in a way i think its funny and have been showing some of the post at my club.
but it dose show how much thinking is going on in the US

I'll tell you where the BS is — You indicate that you received correspondence from the BEP indicating if older-series notes are used, then they "would devalue the new currency of today." Yet, the same correspondence states, "The U.S. Treasury has never recalled or devalued any outstanding U.S. currency." So you expect us to believe that the BEP states that they've never devalued any outstanding currency, but if any older-series notes are used, then the newer-series notes would be devalued. That's contradictory BS.

Here's more BS — The BEP states, "[...] " the older-series notes, which will be removed from circulation as they wear out." You stretch that statement into a concept that there is a Federal Government obligation for banks to remove old paper money from circulation. Banks can exchange the old, worn out money for new bills at the Federal Reserve Bank, which reviews the paper money and determines if it is ready to be retired from the money system. If it is not, the bills are recirculated through the banks. If it is ready to be retired, the Federal Reserve Bank stores it in preparation for destruction. According to the Federal Reserve Bank:

"[...] you do not have to trade in your old-design notes for new ones. All U.S. currency remains legal tender, regardless of when it was issued."

There is no obligation to remove old paper money from circulation. More BS from you.

I hope you find them real soon.

this is just what i mean about the BS in this post you say "So you expect us to believe that the BEP states that they've never devalued any outstanding currency,"

but even in your last post it was you that put up a post from thier website from the FAQ"
Will there be a recall or devaluation of the older-series notes?
There will be no recall or devaluation of the older-series notes, which will be removed from circulation as they wear out. Older worn notes will be replaced with the new notes.

the letter did not say THEY would devalue the money. in my thinking it mean all money would be devalued as there would be a floud of money in use.
by the way you are talking money is only taken out if it is worn out so if the federal reserve bank get an uncirculated 1957 silver note they will then put it back into circulation or better a 1985 20 dollar bill ???

but every one here has said the banks don't turn in old notes and they can get them all the time no matter how bad they are worn out or age this just shows that some will say anything to make them self look right and look as if they know what they are talking about

My comment was, "So you expect us to believe that the BEP states that they've never devalued any outstanding currency, but if any older-series notes are used, then the newer-series notes would be devalued."

That's a fact.

The letter stated, "As all of the outstanding currency is almost haft of all currency printed today. If used would devalue the new currency of today."

Yes, "some will say anything to make them self look right and look as if they know what they are talking about"
— I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. You posted a letter purportedly authored by the BEP indicating that banks are asked by some unknown entity to make sure that old notes find their way to dealers and collectors. The letter also states that if old notes are used in circulation, then the "new currency of today" would be devalued. Now, you indicate that the letter never stated that "THEY" would devalue the money. Ok...

In your thinking, if old money that's already in circulation is put into back into circulation, then all money would be devalued due to the "floud of money in use"
That's an original and interesting concept.

The letter from the BEP states that banks are asked to have old notes find their way to "licenseed dealer/ collators" and "Any bank found not following the guide lines would have their license reviewed." The BEP wrote that? Really? Which Federal agency has jurisdiction to monitor banks to ensure old notes find their way to "licenseed dealers" and "collators"?

It's no fun trying to be logical and have a sensible discussion with you. You write something as if it was a fact, then waffle into some type of incomprehensible nonsense and indicate that "some" don't know what they're talking about.

I'm done.

This might get everyone angry at me but look for the 1957 series only with a M/A serial number on the right side. the Letter "M" is a upside down "W" on some of them. Good Luck

yes it is no fun to try and show that i do send e-mails to the one that know more than me as no one can know everything but i wounder just how do others think like the floud of money take the ex" this is coin talk, most will know that a 1890 s morgan is up there in cost as there is so little of them but what if some one found 100,000 of them in some box some where what do you think would happen to the cost of all of them??"
now you ask which federal agency has jurisdiction to monitor banks ----- if i know but they are not doing their job as like you posted old and worn out notes would be replaced if the banks are not doing it then who is?? at this point i am starting to believe that there are no rules are laws for the banks and they can do what ever they feel like doing. and i have asked if so much of the old money is still out there and given out why did we waste so much in tax dollars to make all this new money why didn't we save that and just keep useing the old money notes.
you said you was not sure what point i was trying to make one was that if you just ask the BEP they will let you know two was (even in your old post ) old wron out notes are replaced with new ones. at first i thought it was a law they had to be as the old notes could be copyed so easly but even the BEP said no there is no law to that are the banks are only ask to do this but don't have to. now buy who i don't know and they did not say who if any one whaches the banks to make sure this is done? from every one here it is not done and as so many have old silver notes still it has not been done for many years now. but it is nice that they are out there for the real collator to find.

so yes it no fun and funny to try and chat about something when so many will run so fast to type something and not even think about what it is they are saying (and i don't mean typos as i have my shear)

Uhmmmmm I have quite a few $1 S.C.'s that have 'W' as the start of the serial number. Is it only for Series 1957 or can it be 1957A or 1957B? I've never heard of this before... Is it some kind of error?
