The case is scratched, but it still has the original seal around the case.

It is worth $2.24. The only value that coin has is the silver content. That coin was not graded by a legitimate grading company.

PCI is not a legitimate TPG.

oh.. so should i send this coin in to be graded by a legit grading company?

I would not do that. The price of grading will more than likely exceed the value of the coin.

I'd have to say priceless. After all, this coin is what got you started collecting. Keep it forever.
Not all worth is measured in cash value.

I totally agree with Zach! Kid_Collector don't be bothered that the coin is not worth a ton of money, it is what got you started and if you are smart (smarted then I was!) you will stick with it! In reality you could probably sell that coin to someone for $5 give or take but it is hard to say without a better picture of the coin. But Proof sets from that year can be had for just over melt value, usually cause they have been searched and the coins are not top quality.

Oh and :welcome: to CoinTalk BTW! :)

i agree with JJK and Zach! i have a one dollar note that is J54000100B it's not worth much, but i love the thing because of all the zeros in it! don't worry about cash value on everything, think aesthetic value also!

Yes. I am happy with it. I mean after all it is still a proof coin and a brilliant blue. And to add to that, the first coin i got. :)
