One more thing I forgot to mention..........

If you end up with an odd number of people participating, all you have to do is draw three names at random. Those three will send gifts "A to B", "B to C" and "C to A". Then you will have an even number for the rest of the drawings.

Whichever format you choose, count me in, I never get anything for christmas except socks and shirts. A coin would be nice!:smile

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer but we had a gift exchange last year and I know that two people that sent gifts never received one in return(for whatever reason). Just a warning that these contests don't always work the way they're supposed to for everyone involved. It's kind a bummer when you're expecting something and it never shows up.

 

That would be upsetting... I guess we could tell who sent a package, but if someone doesn't, there isn't really anything we can do but put together a sort of pool where people who don't get a gift and were expecting one can be compensated. Everyone sending will need to post a tracking # and put their username in the package.

It might be illegal in some states. I know that in my home state, charging an entry fee is treated as running an illegal lottery, and can result in fines and/or prison time.

 

Yeah, I am not doing this due to legal reasons. How do I close it?

 

Another way to do it might be like a secret santa ? Or blind coin exchange ? I mean you list your gift and somehow we do a random draw for the exchange. Like a big grab bag swap. You only know what you are putting in, but no idea what you will get.

I don't know how these things work, but I imagine there are guys out there who do. And can put something together ?

 

I might be able to put together a secret santa coin thing. Would you guys like me to do that?
