Yeah I forgot to mention shipping. Didn't leave that out on purpose I promise lol. I saw the shipping of 6 bucks and thought it was a tad high but eh, I've seen much worse.
These are the new pick-ups from the Santa Clara show, they're new additions to the 7070. Let me know what you guys think, I'm aiming for VF grade 19th century coins for the set. 1850 Seated Dime 1891 Seated Dime
I would venture to say you have a Fine, the tale is in the hair. There isn't enough detail to warrant a higher Fine, but LIBERTY is strong. Classic Heads are just tough in general, they weren't known for their strong strikes. What I really like about yours is that it's not all beat up or porous, it's a nice clean example.
And here is the 1828 13 stars half cent I also acquired at the Santa Clara show. Nice chocolate brown surface, no corrosion, nice addition to the type set. Even got a great deal too! Wish I can get better photos, I'm away from home so it's kinda tough in the lighting I'm in. I'll try something different later.
I figured a straight fine condition as well. I most likely would not have bought it had it not been for the 12 star variety. Also, I guess there are not many additional sub-varieties from what I have seen. I like your 13 star coin.. nice color and looks nice and clean...
Just bought this 1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar over the weekend ... PCGS XF 40 I edited this post deleting the images because I just decided to return this coin. Is there a way I can give back the LIKES on this post? Sorry all If you liked this, please hit the UNLIKE button I wonder if there's a way to delete a post? I am thinking if I could delete this post, then the LIKES I got for it will also be deleted. If anyone knows how, let me know. I don't want to "cheat" the LIKE system. I shouldnt have posted this until the return period lapsed. There were just too many negative comments about this coin on the other coin forums/boards ... And the President of PCGS wanted to acetone this to "work wonders for it" ... if he liked it he wouldnt have wanted to fix it. All the negativity just built up over time and it finally got to me.
Back from ANACS and Slabbed MS65 I posted a few pictures of this coin raw a while back. It came back MS65 from ANACS.
Late to the party again. I missed seeing the 1799 dollar. Sigh. Here's a crusty old colorful CBH I picked up recently from David Kahn. PCGS graded AU58. The 1830 is a sweet original NGC/CAC AU58 which I'm trying to cross to PCGS. But a super slider just landed in my lap so I'll be selling this one. Lance.
You can send old "crusty" my way (any day) if ya ever get tired of her Lance. As always, beautiful pics.......
Both of those are really nice indeed...I've looked at a few locally but never saw one that I liked enough to buy...!!
Wow Jello, you're telling me! It's a date I've been looking for in this type of grade and I got lucky. They're either really in rough shape or you find the top flight stuff that you have to drain the 401k for.
