Have you considered taking the 5 cent back to the shop and asking the dealer why he priced it at $8? Mayble he will tell you something you are not seeing. If he is helpful you may end up wanting to buy from him again.

 

I picked up one of those nickels also, I like it, and I run into the 67 pennies now and then so it is another piece of that year set.

 

Does the penny need to proof? Or are you just looking to add one to your collection?

 

I don't really care, proof or not. I will find one eventually.

I found one in my collection. I really need to get some coin software like other people have mentioned. Sometimes I end up buying cheap foreign pieces that I already have.
