Hi all. I know the date possibly is some MD but Liberty… God Bless America, Obv and Rev. Thank you all!
There were only 3 obverse doubled dies& 2 reverse for this coin and mint so it should not be hard to eliminate through Wexler's site. I do not see it here.
I was trying to get a couple of more pics. An my Pam’s finds thread, someone said they will be glad to take off my hands lol! I do see something. Not doubting y’all but the shine is good so the light is hard to get right. I put on darker background. I’m not trying to fuss lol!!!
Probably the most silliest question I have had so far. No maybe not but anyway… How can they close something if not all coins are accounted for? Lol!
Sites like Wexlers do not close anything. They are a reference to what has been found so far. With cents being the most examined of all coinage, the chances of a new variety emerging after nearly 47 years are very slim indeed.
Yes I had read that. I just meant more or less if something is saved a long time. These were at least stored 22 plus years. Dad passed in 2000. He was 87. He always had his coin jars. Who knows but you are correct no doubt. Thank you.
I know what you are alluding to but remember if a die has a variety such as doubling, it will strike tens of thousands of planchets before it is retired. They were not all stored away.
