I finally got the last sets to fill the empty years of completing my 1968 - Present Uncirculated P&D U.S. Mint Sets, which includes the 1982 and 1983 Denver and Philadelphia Souvenir Sets (not the knock off 3rd party '82/'83 uncirculated sets you can find out there). I have some pre-64 Proof sets but not the uncirculated sets. Now to start on the '48-'64 Uncirculated sets along with the '65-'67 Special Mint Sets to make a complete '48 - Present collection of all the official Mint Sets, non-proof that is.
My latest addition to my "What are the crappiest Morgans minted in 1878 I can find in TPG holders" set. Just arrived today.
Linde, that '42 is splendid. The surfaces come across as almost prooflike, and the detail on miss liberty's left hand holding the branch is superb. I have a heck of a hard time finding left-hand detailed WLHs. :thumb:
That 42 is really a sweet looking WLH. great pickup... What years are considered for the short set for these?
What years are considered for the short set for these? This set is the 1933 to 1947 Can't even think about MS coins for the early dates. Hope to do them in MS64 to MS 66 is my current goal.
That 42 is the bomb. The best one I've ever seen. I need to buy a new laptop now because its full with drool..
That's number 2. The other is an 1878 7TF Rev 1878 PCGS 40. *lol* The reality of the situation is that I got that one to my door for about melt. I just didn't feel like passing that up.
I recently bought this colorfully toned 1957 Proof Lincoln off ebay and finally have the coin in hand. Wow it's a looker! I got a great deal as it was only $12.61 plus $3 shipping. I will be sending this off to PCGS to see if it grades. These are the sellers photos ... And a few photos I snapped with my iphone through the PCGS submission clear cellophane envelopes (sorry about the glare) a few minutes ago. This coin has great color, tremendous mirrors, and no spots.
thanks brg ... it's my birth year as well ... always fun when you find those! it will be interesting to see if it grades, if it's AT'd someone did one heck of a job -- best post 1936 proof lincoln ever seen live ... hands down. Robec has some photos of some others that rival or surpass this however. Still for $12 who can complain!
Got my proof-like 1909-O Morgan Dollar overstrike coin recently... took a few pics and a few group shots w/ the regular high-luster examples.
