If this is indeed true it,s a sad, sad day, Rickie B was very special, to many good people Have passed this year another friend Bob Connor who was another great contributor To the Forum also lost his battle If anybody is up for starting a Memorial Fund for Rickie "B" i would be more then happy To represent it, i also did this for Bob Connor for the young notables we have already Sent many donated items to the young notables and am only waiting for Chris Connor To finish the plaques, Please feel free to send me an e-mail, i will be contacting Peter For a sticky.
I would suggest that one be sure of the facts before organizing such. It would not be right to organize any funds if no one is positive of the need of a memorial. Let's put everything on hold until then. Jim
Though everyone would like to have a positive thought including me on Rickie "B" I think his last post speak,s volumes on his declining health saying his good bye,s To the forum you don,t do that unless you dont plan on returning, i got to know Both Rickie "B" and Bob Connor very well and i,am very sad of the loss of the frienships And knowledge they both possessed they will be sorely missed
Rusty, I agree with the Mods here entirely. I think this is getting a little too far ahead of itself unless we have more certainty and approval from his family to do more. I'm sure his wife could be contacted if necessary but let's also remember that Rick's last message was written on Rick's terms. He said his farewells and many of us chimed in at that time to send him off. I'm sure Rick read(s) the threads related to his last post as long as he can/could. But let's all respect his privacy and especially that of his family's, as he may not have wanted this much attention. Again, Rick choose the time when he felt it was best to depart from this forum on his terms and I hope we can all respect that, especially since so much praise has been shown in a few threads. Well, that's my two bucks on this for now.
+1 krispy. I believe each post here had the best of intent, but I personally feel it has gone a little long. If we speak of him, speak well, keep him in our hearts and prayers, but I respectfully request that we let this thread end. No disrespect intended to the OP.
No...I am not Dead!! Dear Friends: I am somewhat shocked to see this thread. I was not aware that I had passed on yet...lol I received an email from a good friend here at CoinTalk and at his request decided to post to this thread. Thank you all for your concern, I am touched deeply by it. I am not so sure how I became involved in a coin shope in the NorthEast...must be some other unlucky soul. While I have been in a battle due to my health concerns I am still breathing God's clean air for the time being. When I typed my farewell here a few months back...I was uncertain wether we had this under control or not..it is still a battle and if I loose it, well we cant say that I did not give it ****. I am spending time with my family and have not been collecting many banknotes of late. I have transfered my collection to my wife and she may do with it as she pleases...if you see it sold in the future that does not mean I am dead..lol My family has instructions to post my death here on this site for all my friends. Until then, know that I am fighting a tough opponent...it takes my strength away and causes some depression.....but hey, I am still kicking. Please do not expect to see me post much if at all for the near and midterm future. I am due back in the hosp soon for another round. Thank you so much for the kind thoughts and words. God Bless... RickieB
That is excellent Rick, glad to hear your still in the fight. I will keep you in my prayers and hope for all the best for you and your family! God Bless, Steve
I think Mark Twain said it best with, [h=2]"The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated"[/h] Good to hear from you Rickie.....be well my friend.
SO glad to hear you're still with us, Rick!! Fight the good fight -- we are all sending good thoughts.
great to hear from you my friend !! You dont know how happy this makes me please keep us posted on your progress
Wow it is so good to hear from you. I did not ever think that I could find such friendships on the internet but you have become one of those friends. I have greatly missed your posts around here. And am very glad to hear of you still fighting the good fight! Get well Rickie!
Good to hear from you Rickie! :smile Get well soon, Im sure everything will be good for you and your family in no time. Daniel
RickieB, I do not know you problem, but I pray that you will come out on top of it. I have looked at your post and you know your stuff. You have the same idea of your collections, but my wife, and kids have no clue as to the values of it. It would almost be smart to sell it, so they will not to worry about it's value. I, myself have no clue, as to my collection worth, I just like to collect, since I was a Boy Scout, I'm 68 now. So, it's has been along time collecting all things that I have. Do not give up, still enjoy as you can. Keep smiling, and all will wonder, what you have been up too. -O)
