I think I finally got an R5 after a LONG dry spell where I'd been sniped repeatedly including a S-105 just minutes before this one. It is reported to be a S-195 and I can confirm the obverse and I think the fraction Bar is defined enough to go with it rather than the S-194. What do you think? My other S-195 continues to get mixed opinions, even though the spike is there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/310357256259?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Well I hope it works out. From looking at Tom's and this one I am leaning towards the S-194. The first inside berry on right does not look small and weak. Just too hard to tel.
I pretty much think identifiable R5 coins should have a floor of around $100, even with problems and escalate quickly from there. A problem free G5 will probably draw bids around $300, though most copper will have more detail and problems making valuation erratic. There seems to be a marked escalation on the R5+ and higher. The S-105 R5+ drew two bids over $130 on a severely damaged example and I think that was a bargain.
Nice pickup It looks the S-195 hopefully when you can see the reverse clearer it is indeed..!! I am amazed at the prices these coppers bring, even the details ones seem to hold their own depending on the rarity factor
