Still waiting: "Your order request is in process" 1 Unit backordered. Expected to ship 11/27/2011 Do you think if they were going to cancel my order they would have done it by now??
Those are awesome shots Ken! I love that you added your own reflection in the box too! I'd say you're almost an Ultra-Hameo PR 70! LOL!
okay, recieved an email from the mint today. i unit backordered expected shipdate of 11/28. same status on the track order section of their website. so.........does this mean that i will indeed get these? please oh please let it be so
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! i feel as if vader just told me he is my old man, without the cool force action that would come with such news
Hang tight just in case one gets returned and they send it out to you later. Never cancel your order in a case like this. Good luck to you.
thanks krispy, i in no manner will cancel this order. spent 4 hours online that day trying to get through. just a bit peaved or aggravted that some folks on here are boasting how they purchased 25 sets, to me that does not seem right and makes such folks opportunists instead of collectors. and heck i didn't even get on my high horse to say that, just an observation. i am a simple collector with little money and really had hoped to have this special set to pass down at some point (after a great many years of my admiring them first, of course )
I was in for two sets but just didn't get my order placed soon enough I guess. There should have been an order limit of 1/HH. The Mint is solely to blame. Their methods are easily subverted. A lottery system would be much better. They can take as many orders as they want in a set period of time then fulfill from a lottery selection system and if that proved to be corrupt, then they just need to mint on demand so we can all buy what we want, effectively making such sales the deciding factor over mintage, not a limited edition that drives these problems.
Completely agree. I will admit I bought 5 sets, but I was holding my nose the whole time, as the order procedure stunk to high heaven. Chris
Lets be positive and hang in there guys! As long as we don't get that 'Dear John' letter from the mint we're ok.
If the Mint could still manage to produce more of these A25 sets they'd still rake in an insane profit, satisfy a lot of individual collectors and quash the speculators on the aftermarket.
But if they "quash the speculators" then I believe they are doing the exact opposite of what they intended originally. Let's face it, most modern mint products lose money if you buy from the mint. To get people to keep ordering, you need a "winner" every once in a while to keep people buying. I understand your frustration with the order limits Krispy, but the mint would really take a hit to its customer base if it now turns around and pulls the rug out from under them. I believe from the get go this was devised as a "thank you" to customers who order direct from the mint, to build excitement, and to expand the mints customer list. Again, I believe the error was 5 per household, but its too late to undo that, and anything like you propose would end up po'ing the very customers they were wishing to make happy. Chris
You're certainly correct about this of course. One other thing that is interesting, the (quantity) per household rule, to me would be interesting to know how many units actually get delivered to a 'household' not a PO box, commerical business address or some other place of business. I would also love to know how many total orders beyond the sell out the Mint took for this set. What was actual demand before they cut off sales.
Like others, I have an high numbered order but will not cancel it. What I find frustrating is the mint went through a fiasco with the ATB's and then came right back and created another one with this set. They are not slow learners, they are outright stupid. It makes me think they are not appointed but elected officials/politicians. :>)
I hear ya...! You think the more I look at my order status the faster I'll see "in stock and reserved" instead of "backordered?"
