I think the buyer was so upset when you decided to bring the coin personally in Baltimore Coin Show that is why he/she cancelled the order.
*I received the check and deposited it into my account. I then sent Mr. H an email letting him know that I received the check and that since I knew he would be at the Baltimore show the next week, I would bring the coin to him rather than ship it since registered mail would take longer to reach him.*
If I am the buyer the coin and I sent you a check I expected that you the Seller will mail out or send the items on my home address or PO BOX the way I sent it the check to the seller. Of course I will be upset the decission of a seller writing me as a buyer that the coin I purchased I will going to pick it up.
    That's was it.
By the way I live in Baltimore,Md.
I am not the one as a buyer of her.

I don't think that makes any sense.
First, it was known they would both be at the show. If the buyer wanted the item mailed, which as we all know, poses an inherent risk, (the post office does lose coins !), all the buyer had to do was say so.

Nah, I think the buyer had a buyer in the wings and was exercising an option to purchase. He beat Charmy's price, probably through negotiation, and left her hanging. Like many have said, "sharp" businessman or a "flake". The way a person chooses, says it all. IMHO

    Release the McCracken!

The key in business is not to get emotionally involved with transactions if at all possible. Have a fool-proof ordering/transaction system to minimize misunderstandings. Ship quickly; I find USPS overnight to be effective, secure and affordable; priority is a close second.

Charmy, are you an ANA member?

If so, I think you are obligated to provide a return privilege for coins which you sell. And even if not, personally, I think it is poor business not to allow returns and to only allow credits against other coins. You are forcing dissatisfied customers to either keep coins they are unhappy with, or to be without their money, unless or until they find another coin which they want to purchase from you.

Mark, thank you again for your input, and although I do not believe I am violating the ANA's policy regarding returns since I do take returns, I will revisit my credit policy.

Regarding this thread, I see now that it only has caused more grief than education and I sincerely apologize for that. I didn't intend for things to get so out of hand, nor do I want to cause such strong hurt feelings among the members here. I was very frustrated as to how the transaction ended up, especially with no communication from Paul, but I now see i should have just handled this problem privately like I have done with others in the past and not brought it to the public forum - another lesson learned.

So folks, let's PLEASE allow this thread to die and get back to more constructive and positive discussions here on the forum.

The Baltimore show begins in a few days and I look forward to providing another one of my pictorial reports!
