Here's a new Roman coin I picked up . Don't really collect these much . I know it's a denarius with Venus Veiled . Any info appreciated . Anybody know what this should go for .It looks a lot better in hand . Thanks .
Hope you can see these , sorry for the washcloth background . LOL .
Click this bar to view the full image.
L. Marcius Censorinus, P. Crepusius and L. Mamilius Limetanus. 82 BC. AR Denarius Diademed, draped and veiled bust of Venus right, wearing earring and necklace of pearls; behind, L CENSORIN downwards./ Venus driving galloping biga right. In that shape, maybe $200 or so. Great looking coin,
I agree with Mat and Randy regarding the nice coin and the wash cloth doesn't bother me. What I would suggest is cropping the images a bit closer to the coin so we did not get ten square inches of cloth for one square inch of coin.
Thanks guys I did crop the photo but as Mat said they didn't show up , so I went with the original shots .
Ruben , really have no idea , it certainly has some wear , maybe the equivalent of a high VF-35 in US coin speak .
Like I said I bought it from a friend on CT , don't know where he bought it . But he's really into ancients .
Just a few Bust halves , and a Mexican 8 reale . I'm kinda watching my money so nothing over 200 . Wish I could make a $50 find like you did .
