does anyone else realize his mood is "buzzed"? it's not stacking up here... lets get judas priest in here, they'll tell us ALL about the law...
Do the auction houses worry about their images? http://currency.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=141145&lotNo=32122#Photo I so enjoy the HA images and the various print catalogs of currency. I wonder how the various firms deal with it. Doesn't really bother me. I only have one photo of currency on CT and it is linked to photobucket and easy to delete. Jim
yes i too am done with this and as i have not been charded with any thing so far i don't have to worry in fact it is every one that is saying any one can take any photo of currency and do any thing with it and that there is no law stoping them from sending it over the web and yes the secret sevrice web site dose have a color photo of a 20 but there is alot more to that photo than you are telling every one (right) it has alot of over printing on it making it hard for any one to print it out.. or maybe you missed that. And i have worked with HA auction house and if you look at their web site they have a posting that shows they have the rights to post the color photos of currency as if you try to download and print it it will not work (to the right size) i just like it as here are some that will say US currency is not an obligation of the US but even still the secret sevrice web site says plain and clear right off (The law sharply restricts photographs or other printed reproductions of paper currency, checks, bonds, revenue stamps and securities of the United States and foreign governments.) but i can see how some don't see a scan would not be a photograph so all do what you will and keep thinking you can do anything with the scans of currency have fun with it
I must apologize as I did not know that the HA images were not downloadable in a way that one could not resize to any size as you mentioned.
her you go again in the part (Other Obligations and Securities) it says (Photographic or other likenesses of other United States obligations and securities and foreign currencies are permissible for any non-fraudulent purpose, provided the items are reproduced in black and white and are less than three-quarters or greater than one-and-one-half times the size, in linear dimension, of any part of the original item being reproduced) so what part of that is hard to read ?? and this is from what you posted not me ! as i am the OP of this post i will ask (coin talk) to give this post only there days and then remove it as now i know i am done seeing things like this
Most forums as popular as CoinTalk will have a fair number of dumb and or deranged posts. Ive done a few dumb ones myself. Its hard to pick the dumbest as they are so quickly overshadowed by other excellent and intelligent content on CoinTalk. I would like to nominate this thread as the number one nonsense post of the year.
The thing is, if an image is displayed in your browser, you've already downloaded it. At that point, it's just a matter of how convenient it is to transfer it into another program or send it to a printer.
Are we talking about taking photos of unconstitutional fiat paper IOU's with interest attached by a private bank still? Good Lord!!!
i can see now how most think here very smart to cut parts of what is said to make it sound just the way you like dose not say much for this site to let thing like that happen as i bet i could do that for any post on here and make them all sound dum as *** but that is up to the ones that run this site and look over it dose it show what kind of person they are to let this happen to any one i am sure if it happen to one of their post something would happen fast but it shows just how most look at the web they will only cut out the parts they don't like and keep the rest to suit them give your self a big cookie it shows just what kind of a person you are thanks for show every one
Ok, you win, and thanks for the cookie. You are indeed brilliant. In fact you proved that when you contacted a government agency and asked if you were doing anything illegal. Remember, the government is your friend. Once they get your name they will be your friend forever.
The way I interpret the problem is that you asked the BEP about selling food stamps on Ebay. Not the fact that you have pictures of U.S. currency on your computer. Now that you admitted to trying to sell the stamps (which I believe is illegal) they are checking for any other illegal activity you may have participated in. I believe Ebay has a policy against the selling of these stamps. You were simply inquiring about why it is illegal. Now you have to try and explain that you were merely selling (or trying to sell) them as a collectable. If that is the case, hopefully you don't get prosecuted for being unaware of a law.
For the 10,000th time . . . It has been legal for people not on the program to buy, sell and possess paper USDA Food Coupons since July 2009.
Yes I would like to say thank you for your post I am glad that some one has got it right there for a minnet I was thinking I was not making my point but then even in school speech and debite was not my thing And yes it is all on e-bay as they have not kept up the the changing laws with the old food coupons. And it is hard to make them see the light so that some of us can make some money off of them . and the USDA has told me they will not help me in making them see the light in this matter. Much like you can lead a hrose to water but you can’t make him drink it. And it may have been e-bay ****ed at me for bugging them that they truned every thing over on me. So I did it to my self But for those that think you can’t have or sell them here is a link and what the rule is on them and yes it dose matter as this is what started all of this. I have cut out some parts as they don’t mean much (like the background ). But I also see why so many think the way they do about them as I did leve part of the background in at the end The parts in red I have done so you don’t have to read all of it just what makes this point DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE Food and Nutrition Service 7 CFR part 274 RIN 0584–AD48 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Regulation Restructuring: Issuance Regulation Update and Reorganization To Reflect the End of Coupon Issuance Systems AGENCY: Food and Nutrition Service, USDA. ACTION: Direct final rule. SUMMARY: This direct final rule updates and reorganizes the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly the ‘‘Food Stamp Program’’) regulations pertaining to the issuance of SNAP benefits . The last post on this thread (before yours) was last night just after 9:00PM. It was by the OP and since then, no body else has made a comment on the issue, so in a way, this thread was kind of already over and done.
Ladies and gentlemen, This is how we need to post our currency online for now on until further notice... Thank You, come again, Welcome...
