Is there any notation on the holder about the fact that it was cut post BEP? It's a nice looking note, but seems like a potential trap for an unknowing buyer if not labeled as such. Dave
No notation indicating it was cut from a sheet, but I knew by the serial number. However, I was surprised by the odd width of the note. Look how wide the back of the note is.
The back does look nicer, but I think that's because the design of the back is smaller than the front, so the margins are already a bit wide looking on a regular note. It would have been nice if whomever made your note would have cut the sides large too, but that would have reduced in half (again) the number of "gems" he could cut from the sheet. Dave
Almost everybody knows that numeral serial number 9499 or higher are from uncut sheets and if you are dumb enough to not do your research before you buy, thats your problem. I think everybody should actually do research before paying over face value for anything. It could sure save a lot of issues.
I received these notes also. The 1953A* United States Note isn't graded, but it looks at least AU. I got the 1934K LGS because I just can't resist those LGS notes.
I just got the notes in to complete my 2009 $1 District Set. It's the first time I've ever tried to collect an entire set, so I'm proud of this one. Now all I need is to find nicer examples of the B*, F, G, & L. All the others are XF to Gem in my opinion.
Thanks Clay. This one snuck up on me and then one day I decided to go with the $1 set. i might move onto the $5, $10, and $20 but I have to decide on those as of yet.
How did you get these? I can get CHCU L12, G7, or H8 if interested. I can even specifically get you a specific block for the L12. Anywhere from LA-LJ... PM if your interested for face of course
I just love those Light Green Seals, and I'm three notes shy of having a full district set for 1934 $10 FRN LGS.
I have added a couple of notes myself, The broken bank note is one of a series I'm trying to collect a complete set from. This is from the main bank and I am also collecting the series from their branch bank in Shreveport.
