I found a 2000 South Carolina quarter that has been stamped (indented) with North Georgia. The front of the coin appears to have a marred area just below the nose... any thoughts?
It's just that, a stamped coin; post mint damage. The marred area on the obverse was caused when the coin was stamped. Now why did someone take the time to stamp it? No idea, my guess would be boredom.
Take a look at many, many videos that show some of the stupid stuff those good-ole-boys in the South do to amuse themselves. I have to admit to having done some myself at one time in my life.
