It's a little bigger than normal halves when I was searching half dollar rolls to get some silver, I saw a lettered egge coin and it was a 1833 bust half!!! The condition is about f-8 but im still excited
wow. PS: 8= a VG as in VG-8. F (Fine) = F-12 or F-15 This coin? About a G-4 (as in Good). Possibly a G+ (G-6).
Incredible! What a fantastic find! Save that sucka... Don't flip it for a quick buck on the 'bay. It has alot more sentimental value then intrinsic/numismatic value. Thanks for Sharing, -Brian
I wondered where that darned thing went! Must have gotten dropped into my coin sorter accidentally. Oh well, enjoy... Lance.
New here, probably get flamed for asking, but this "roll searching", are you going to a bank and purchasing rolls of coins and searching them, or buying rolls of ebay, or what? I've purchased a couple penny rolls off ebay with some pretty good results, but never thought about going to a local bank and buying a roll. How often do people find worthwhile coins in rolls from a bank?
Yep, that's what it is. Buy from the bank, search, return....NO RISK and plenty of treasures to be found.
Anything in particular that you ask for? "Can I have your oldest looking rolls"? Best luck with halves, quarters, etc? Which bank have you gone through that has netted the most booty?
I never founded nothing like that in a roll ! I call BS, I don't think that slightly larger half would even fit in a roll wrapper.
