Difficult getting in there. Ordered two and got email confirm at 12:29 ET (#38329xxx). However my confirmation says Backordered instead of "In stock." Does that mean I have to hope other folks credit cards get denied?
The set that remains sealed might have damaged coins inside, it has happened before, and since you don't inspect that set, you can't return the damaged coins to the Mint for undamaged coins. Do you believe that someone will place a higher value on a set that has not been inspected over a set that buyer can see is in good condition? I wouldn't go near a sealed set in the secondary market.
I was wanting to get a set, but can't afford it at this time. It's too bad they're gonna sell out and then see highly inflated prices in the secondary market and folks like myself will miss out. Greed rules the world I suppose.
15 total, but I'm guessing the last 5 are on the wait-list as they got in right before the end of the fun. I was totally wrong about how fast these would sell. Thought for sure they'd be available all day today and most of tomorrow. Definitely underestimated the demand for the Silver Eagles!!! Based on the quick sellout, I think those people committing to sell now for $100 or so premium per set are going to regret it Additionally, the fast sellout makes me pretty confident in guessing these sets will never sell for less than the Mint issue price Edited to clarify for the whiners... I only ordered 5 sets, no rules were broken and the Mint rules were followed. A couple family members also placed orders and also complied with the rules. I believe I'm following the rules much more so than the home shopping networks and major dealers who pay their dozens/hundreds of employees to order sets for immediate resale.
Apex is offering $125 over US Mint prices. It's going to get interesting by tomorrow. At first modern coin mart were offering about $60 or $70 over and Apmex just blew them out of the water.
I'm sorry, but I have to say something... There is a reason they put a 5 unit limit on these. There are also folks right here that wanted just one set, and aren't going to get one. If folks like you played by the rules, they might have got a set. Shame.
couldn't agree more. A few is fine but manipulating the system is wrong for those people that only want one set. I'll be lucky to get a set and I only wanted 1 for a Bday gift but probably won't be able too since people like illini get 15 or even 20 sets each and I also go to school so I can't roder one till I get home... Should have been 1 per household...
What about the dealers who had all of their employees ordering 5 of theses sets, along with all the relatives of the employees ordering 5 of these sets? You don't see those guys posting here, but rest assured they're out there and they've done that. I'm sorry that there are many collectors that didn't score this one, but, we all had a fair chance at getting one.....given the rules. Much as it sucks, someones gonna be disappointed.......
