Oh the irony regarding Leonard. Great write up on the Lords Baltimore Chris. And that Oregon Trail is just gorgeous.
The Alabama half is notable in that it was the first United States coin to depict an actual person living at the time (Governor Kilby) who was not a model.
We love Commems over at the U.S. Commemorative Group. Come on over leeg! http://www.cointalk.com/groups/61/
As promised.......just arrived today. An especially meaningful coin to me as I'm of Swedish decent. Interesting background on this issue too, so you might like to take a peek here.......http://www.coincommunity.com/commemorative_histories/delaware_swedish_tercentenary_half_dollar.asp
I love that coin. Nice pickup Greenie. I like the sun poking out from behind the cloud above Old Swedes Church. Here is a picture of that church.
By far one of my favorite commem's, it's a toss up between the Delaware and the Norfolk. Very beautiful piece you have there!!
Been awhile since I've added to the Classic collection. Here are three new ones. I'm slowly closing in on a full type set. (only 7 left!) I do enjoy pulling these classics out and looking them over. I have to say for such a silly event to commemorate the Columbia is a really nice design. Although I love the ship on the Long Island.
