Hey Lance, Very nice piece of early Americana!! I had this one but sold it a while back. No where near as nice as yours. I wasn't very good at imaging back then either.
My 1917 Type 1 SLQ graded by PCGS at MS67FH. I got it at a "fire sale" price a few days after being at the Long Beach coin show last year where a dealer offered me virtually the same coin for only $5,850.
That is a wonderful looking early dollar.. scraped by as in eating cup-a-soup after buying it or getting it graded...
Oh, definitely the top image raw one has the 65 beat hands down and then some.. looks 67 easy. The reverse on the raw one looks superb!!
Looks way better than PR61 I'd say 64 with the little cheek hit holding it back from more...In my opinion..
Yep, I'm thinking at least 66+ with a shot at a 67. The strike for the date is superb and the luster is way above average. Thanks for the comment... on the raw piece
@coin dexter, you should make a thread of nothing but your buffalo nickels! thy are just so beautiful!
I really like the 2010 UNESCO World Heritage sites Taj Mahal issue from France. The rendition of the Taj was nearly perfect. Photoshop is heavily used by the US Mint and I suspect it was used here too!
Nice 04.. I almost bought an 04 today that had wonderful tone was there was about 1 and a half of the diamonds worn off otherwise a very nice coin... Not sure what that implies as to condition...
Here's some raw Buffs of mine, all I have purchased recently. The 1914 I believe is the 14/3 I'll submit it and find out what the pros think. It's also has some serious clashing both obverse & reverse. Under the chin of the Indian is as strong as you'll see I think.
