I think this is a very beautiful coin. The color is very appeaaling and the strike is as nice or better than most 1913 type 2's you'll run across. I purchased this piece raw, ungraded, and sent it in to NGC for grading. Now I can't tell you why NGC graded this coin MS62+ but that's what they did. All I could do was to laugh....
Wow, I expected much better than that myself. Think it would be worth a crossover try unless you only like ngc for grades..
Grades are just opinions and I have my own. I'll say this, NGC is more cosistant than pcgs most of the time. I have both, and respect both, but that doesn't mean they don't make mistakes as they do and the 13 type 2 of mine is one of them.
Here's a pretty 13 type 1 the strike is amazing and the luster will blind ya. The color is also attractive. It also has a CAC sticker, if it matters to anyone.
Here's 3 coins from a South African proof set still in the original mint box it was issued in. The toning is crazy nice on this set.
You bet !! I have some more but I've done enough....I don't wanna break my camera so I'll stop for a bit. Thanks, I love Buffs.
This coin was the subject of a photo contest ATS. I liked it so much I offered to buy it. It was an ANACS PF60 and it crossed to PCGS as a PR61, which I still think is conservative. The colors are spectacular. The images are pretty big, if you click on them. Lance.
Hey now, I remember this one! I also was in this photo contest. Now this coin if I remember correctly was in an old ANA slab. This was a very tough coin to image and is also a very pretty piece!! Great image by the way....
The top image is my 1913 type 2 housed in a PCGS holder graded MS-65. The lower image is another 1913 type 2 I purchased raw for a VERY good price off the bay. Now with my eye I believe the raw coin has the 65 beat , what do you think? Plase tell me your thought on this. Thanks for any help....Coin Dexter.
