Thank ya kindly....it was from an old Wayte Raymond Coin album. He started making coin albums in the early 1930s until early 1960s.

I bought this Morgan on approval a few days ago. I thought the color/toning was really pretty, but wanted to examine it in hand before I decided if this was a keeper. It does have a very unusual lighter stripe down the middle on the obverse. At first I thought it was end of roll toning, but the pattern isn't right. Now I wonder if a piece of paper was laying on the coin for a while? The left edge is sharp but the right edge is fuzzier and doesnt extend all the way down the coin (which I think reduces the chances this mark was from scotch tape). It's interesting that the colorful rainbow rim toning on the obverse bottom left worked its way through the left edge of the stripe -- so I know the rainbow rim the toning took place after what ever obstruction that was there was removed. In any case, I thought this coin was pretty and unusual. I think this would have had a shot at a higher grade (just look how clean the cheek is) but was downgraded (perhaps?) for the stripe? I think the coin itself is a very solid MS64 and might have even had a shot at an MS65.

So how do you all vote? Do you like or not like?
