A beisbol purist. :) I like that. Gettin' back to basics and traditions. Makes the managing of the team more interesting. Well, what's it this year? DH or pitchers batting? Or is it dependent upon which ballpark they're playing in?

it's always that. if it's in an AL park, dh rule. in an NL park, pitchers hit. and i for one agree, the dh rule should be outlawed in the constitution! lol.

Seems I remember it being alternate years at some point, but that could just be a bit of undigested lunch affecting me.....:)

Rangers in game 6, score 2 to 1

(That's voting with my head, but I'll be pulling for the Cardinals.)

home field advantage used to alternate, but never the dh/pitcher hitting rule. that has been constant. now home field advantage goes to the winner of the all-star game.

they've actually changed how the dh is used in the World Series many times since 1973 when the AL first adopted it. It has been kind of all over the place. This whole All-star Game winner determines home field is a travesty as well. Bud Selig not being able to take the heat for calling a tie led to the current system.

personally, I wish that they'd outlaw the DH, but that would make for 12 less roster spots in MLB, so the Player's Association will never go for that. Did I just sound anti-union there???

I'm not making any predictions-- I'll just say that this is the first time the Cards have made it to the Series in an odd-numbered decade since the '30s. Go Cards!

to defend myself... since 1986, when i first started following baseball religiously, that has been a constant. i can't speak for the 70s, as i wasn't born yet. and in the early 80s, i was too young to fully undestand the rules.

The dh should absolutely be abolished. Its the dumbest rule I've ever heard of. It could be a slight advantage to the NL team when they're at home though.

Need a score for the final game Duke in case you're right and there is a tiebreaker.

For the record, I'm thinking Cards in 6 or 7 ;) Absolutely anything could happen in this series though.
