I guess I need to backtrack on my skunk dime box. I'm going through them looking for die cracks and such when I found a 1980 proof in really good shape.

Search enough junk silver and you're bound to find something good. Best I've found so far was an AG3 (Okay, maybe that's stretching it) 1894-O dime.

Did 5 boxes, $70 CWR, and a partial bag with $410 in dimes today... One box was a skunk, the other boxes kicked out 3 Mercs and 5 Roosies. The CWR's, 1 Roosie, the bag, 2 Roosies.

Box of halves was a skunk, surprise.

Baking soda to clean the coins, and then dip in lemon juice to prevent tarnishing. I don't suggest cleaning it unless you really want to.

Only had enough time to grab a box of Nickels today:

2 Buffs (1 with a hardly readible 1927 and the other dateless)
    1 War (1944)
    3 from 1938
about 7 from the 1940's and about 20 from the 1950's

Kooxkoox, I am from northern California.

Also, skunked on $60 CWR halves, save for a 2009 that I didn't already have. Also, bought a roll of quarters to do laundry with and found my first ATB. Grand Canyon.

Just completed two boxes of halves.

    Box 1 - three 40%'ers
    Box 2 - two 40%'ers

Good start to the week. I have another six or so boxes coming.

Just finished off the second box of halves I picked up yesterday and it turned out to be another good box.
    4 x 40%er's
Dropped off $650.00 in halves in coin-lock to be sent out and counted tomorrow, I got my timing right this time for quick turn-around.
Then I dopped of $95 in dimes I had rolled at another bank and searched a couple trays for halves but nothing doing.
So far it's been a nice week for silver.

1 box of nickels had 35 Pre-'60, 2 Wars, and a dateless buffalo.

I stopped by a coin shop today and someone walked in trying to sell something. I overheard the owner say that they were only offering the silver value of whatever he was selling. The guy accepted the deal and left. Then the owner showed me what he had bought and it was 2 Gem BU rolls of 1963 Franklins. I asked what they buy 90% silver for and he said 12x face :O! $120 for a roll of BU Franklins! Needless to say, I'm opening up a coin shop.

If he only offered the guy $6 a coin, then he ripped him off. That is not silver value. That's only half silver value. What a jerk!

Well, it's official. I'm deep in skunky territory. Last five boxes of dimes netted ZERO.

    Stats for the year:

    Number of rolls searched found

    775 Dime Rolls 12 silvers (10 rosies, 2 mercs)
    241 Cent Rolls 57 Wheats, 1 Steel '43, 1x1895 Indian Head
120 Nickel Rolls 1 War time Nickel

    v/r,
    skunked

Yeah, if I were you, I'd have followed the other guy out the door, and stopped him, told him what they were really worth. Dealers that rip people off get no respect from me... there's one near me, I make sure I go there once a week and stop a few people going in to give them a quick appraisal of what they have so they don't get screwed.

    Box of halves; skunk.
