he didnt ask what the value of them. This thread is of "pretty coins" and to tliner that coin is pretty. Just because you or I may have differences on this coin doesn't mean we shouldnt allow such a coin to be posted. Not trying to be mean though I dont think a comment like that should have been said in this post.

Got to love the French.

 

That coin is part of a whole series of silver and gold coins (2008-2010) that were issued at face. (Of course the face value exceeded the value of the metal content, but at least you did not have to pay more than the amount indicated on the coins. ) On each issue the Semeuse/Sower and the sun have different positions. This page for example http://www.sacra-moneta.com/Euro/Acheter-les-euros-or-et-argent-de-la-serie-Semeuse.html shows a neat "animation" - the Sower in motion, so to say.

Thanks for the info didn't even know about the Sower set, only bought 100/250 euro when I was there. Metal value know is actually more than the fv so not a bad purchase.

oh, no no no no, i never said the coin isn't pretty, because that is a very pretty coin. i'm just saying that in my opinion that i'm not a big fan of coins that have stickers on them.
