1968-S Lincoln Cent

    Not sure which doubling this is - I've seen like coins with similar doubling referred to by a variety of different doubling types.

    The date has the most prominent doubling while the IN GOD WE TRUST and LIBERTY have minimal. There is also some sort of shadow/doubling to the right of Lincoln's collar and forehead. The reverse has none.

    I'm sure this type of doubling is more common than other types.

    Is that a scratch under his eye or a die crack that makes him look like he's crying?

    This is machine doubling and adds no value to the coin, sorry.

    It's a dead giveaway when you see identical doubling on both the MM and the date.

    Thought it was "machine doubling" and yes, it's a die crack under the eye.

    Here's a helpful chart to help distinguish between double die strikes and mechanical, or machine, doubling.
