Hey guys! I was wondering for you dealers and sellers how much you sell your common circulated silver war nickels for? I am usually easily able to get $3 even though they melt for $1.75. Should I consider myself lucky?

***I sell them for $3 each, not buy them for $3.

Hi vdbpenny, I really think you should be able to get them for melt or $2 at the most for circulated ones. I have watched large groups of them go on ebay for melt or a little below.

I got 35 war nickels a few weeks ago for $30.50! That was extreme luck though.

Oh sorry, I see that now. Well my first post is still valid. I would consider yourself pretty lucky to get $3. Although it's not a terrible deal for the buyer if they are getting one or a couple.

About half a year ago I got 2 war nickels for $6, one BU, another AU. I`d say if you sell circulated for $3, you`re doing fine.

Thats awesome! Was it at a garage sale?

Mine? No, it was eBay, no such thing as garage sales in here.

Since it was a low $1 starting bid auction, it just shows that $3 is probably a good deal for circulated ones (for you as a seller).

Thats awesome, I got 20 of them for only $10 bucks bc the were in a old whittman album and he didnt look in it he just said its pretty heavy so $5 each. Also I sell them at flea markets and garage sales. Today, I sold 20 of them for $60.

I got 5 or 6 nice ones (nearly FS) for 75 cents a piece earlier this year. I have posted them here before but a couple of those have wood-grain-like toning. Very pretty.

I get mine for 5cents from the bank! I usually find 5-6 for every 20 rolls or so.
