im a new coin collector so i dont know the ins and outs. im learning and there is alot!!! here are some coins that i thought could possibly be errors. let me know what you think. the quater has doubling by the u(unum) and on the leaf on the bottom but from what i seen and read it looks like machine doubling.
The '44 appears to be a lamination. I think you're right about the quarter. Thé '86 is just damage (zinc rot). The '87 is the result of a deteriorated die. I don't see anything on the nickel.
do yo think any would be worth setting aside or possibly getting looked at? i know they are not newer coins. they are just what i found in my pocket change. the nickel on the right side at liberty and running underneath the letters and date. its almost like an indent, like the liberty and date was stuck too hard.
Anything that is PMD(Post Mint Damage) is worth face value. Would not be worth the expense for submitting to a TPG as they will label it as DAMAGED or DETAILS.
